“Why don’t addicts come to church and how to change that” - led by Pastor Roland Wells
Info:
During this 60 minute workshop church and lay leaders will learn why addicts don’t attend church, how to establish a comfortable entry point and how to proactively extend church to them. Time for questions and answers following presentation.

Pastor Roland Wells |
Bio: Pastor Roland Wells is Sr. Pastor at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, in South Minneapolis. In addition to preaching and attending to the members of the church, Wells teaches and oversees School of Urban Ministry (SUM), which he designed and launched in 1995. Pastor Wells has served in ministry in rural, suburban and urban settings for over twenty years. Addiction has met him in each community. At St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, they offer a Christian AA group that meets weekly. While attending the weekly meetings is important, Wells and his leadership have learned over the years why addicts are hesitant to come into the “church service” and have offered ways to bridge the gap and welcome them into the Sunday service and other activities going on in the congregation.
